Will of John Doswell the Elder in which he leaves his possessions including several properties to his son-in-law John Joules and his son John Doswell.

Copy Will of Mr John Doswell Copy of the Probate of Mr John Doswell's Will In the Name of God Amen. I John Doswell of the City of Winchester in the County of Southampton Gentleman being of a sound and disposing Mind Memory and Understanding do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, I give and bequeath to my Son in Law Mr John Joules of the City of Winchester aforesaid the Sum of Six hundred Pounds, I give to the said John Joules my bed bedsted check Furniture Counterpne Blankets and other Articles appertaining thereto on which I usually lay, Also I give to the said John Joules my Silver Coffee Pot Six Silver Teaspoons and three large Silver Spoons such as he shall choose, Also I give and bequeath unto the said John Joules and my Son John Doswell All my China Plates and China Dishes my tea Equipage except Plate Glass and Earthen Ware of all Kinds and likewise my Pewter equally to be divided between them Share and Share alike Also I give and bequeath All that my Freehold Messuage Tenement or Dwelling House and Hereditament situate in the Parish of Saint Bartholomew near the said City of Winchester and also all those my several Fields in the said Parish containing in the whole Eight Acres or thereabouts, And also all that my Copyhold Farm of Bargain and Lands called Laylands and Pickes Close situate in Brambicop in the Parish of Twyford in the said County of Southampton and which I hold by two several Copies of Court Role of the Manor of Twyford aforesaid and also all that my Copyhold Meadow situate in the Manor of Bishop Stoke in the said County of Southampton and which I hold under the Lord Bishop of Winchester and also the Messuage Tenement or Dwelling House wherein I now live and the garden and Appurtenances thereunto belonging and adjoining which I hold by Lease under the Dean and Chapter of Winchester and also all the rest residue and remainder of my Real and Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto my said Son John Doswell his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns Subject nevertheless to the Payment of the said Legacy of Six Hundred Pounds to the said John Joules and I make nominate and appoint the said John Doswell sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other Wills by me made In Witness whereof I the said John Doswell have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the thirteenth Day of February in the Year of our Lord 1792
